The Sandoy Tunnel

A key prerequisite for the continued development of the Faroe Islands is ongoing investment in infrastructure – aimed at improving connectivity between the islands, thereby easing the daily life of Faroese people and businesses.

On December 21, 2023, the tunnel to Sandoy was opened for use. This established a fixed road connection for even more Faroese people, simultaneously opening up new exciting opportunities for growth and development.

SMJ has been overseeing the Electro & SRO and technical construction management in the tunnel.
