Norðtoftum Smolt Station Handed Over

The expansion of the smolt station at Norðtoftum has been handed over to Bakkafrost. SMJ provided consulting and designed all technical aspects. The consortium, NAC (Nordic Aqua Partners), managed the execution part of the project. The smolt station now has a fish capacity of 18,000 m³.

The timeline and budget were adhered to the plan. The smolt station has already produced two “vintages” of large smolts.

Rúni Olsen from Bakkafrost states that the project went smoothly, and Bakkafrost would not hesitate to embark on a construction project following the same model again.
