At SMJ, we have provided consultancy and supervision for the electrical installations in connection with the construction of the new tunnels North of the Mountain. Our work has included the design and safety solutions for the electrical systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tunnels North of the Mountain, which opened to public traffic on December 19, 2024, are a significant step in improving the infrastructure in the Faroe Islands. The project comprises two new tunnels: \u00c1rnafjar\u00f0artunnilin, measuring 1,965 meters in length, and Hvannasundstunnilin, which is 2.2 kilometers long. These new tunnels replace the old ones from 1965 and 1967, which had only a single lane and did not meet modern requirements for height, width, and safety equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We at SMJ are proud to have been part of this important project aimed at enhancing the infrastructure and transportation connections in the Faroe Islands.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
